Virtual Tour of The Asticou Inn - Attic
I always try to give you a look at a few things you might not see as a regular guest. We probably shouldn't be sneaking up here, but what fun would that be? Here we are in the attic above the 4th floor. What I find interesting here is the framing studs on the left. Behind them is drywall indicating recent remodeling. But notice the parallel white stripes on the boards. This would seem to indicate a lath and plaster wall once faced on the boards. But why would there have been a lath & plaster wall in the attic? Perhaps a fire prevention measure? Also notice the electrical insulators on the rafters left over from old wiring that has been removed.
